A Beginning

Bio
Hello there :) I am a dude that loooves programming as you may know ;) But it all didn't start from nothing... My dad was at first the guy who introduced it to me. He works as a programmer or engineer in the Swedish company Ericsson, and he have inspired me since childhood :)

A friend with similar background did once show me how to program, using a simple "block building" program. I found interest in it and started to make my own stuff. I quickly became good at it and in the end i even outmatched the friend that introduced it to me :D And now you'll read the rest...

Childhood
As a kid i have played Tons of creative video games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon where you build your own amusement park however you wish or want, Black & White where you play as a god that manipulates the world to try to make your believers(Greeks) to conquer islands by defeating the older inhabitants of the islands, and Garry's Mod where you are in a free world filled with cheats, addons, objects, tools to make anything that you can imagine together with other players in servers.

Game Maker
After tons and tons of gaming is suddenly thought it just was a waste of time. I was about the age of 12 when i started to develop games with the Scratch game maker. My Scratch account can be founded here.

I made tons of projects and whit a friends help i was able to even reach the limit of the scratch programming engine. Even as i tried Scratch couldn't handle 3D projects and that was the start of my search for a better programming language.

New language
I looked at lost of forums and guides on what language to learn. The two most recommended ones was the C# programming language and Java trough Eclipse. Since Eclipse was easier and more similar to the Scratch game maker, there was no doubt i was going to start with it.

2 years passed and i was never able to really get a hold on the java language, until i found this book...

I haven't still finished the book so until that time comes I'll be writing about older experiences.

When it's done I'll review the book and then tell more prioritized versions of what i learned from it and so on.

I hope I've not made you too tired of reading my back story. Take care, and we'll perhaps meet again next time.

Cya =D
